This weekend PAX, the first Grand Kotei, is in progress. It’s not quite as exciting as Worlds so we’re not giving blow by blow breakdowns, but we are keeping an eye on it. Once we do get some decklists in a week or two, these will be added to this post.
This is the second article from contributor Tony Gleeson. Tony is a friend of the team who is starting fresh into Legend of the Five Rings. Reading his experiences will hopefully help other new players who wish to learn about this game and world we all love.
Hey gang, it’s been a while since my 1st article and a lot has happened in that time. We’ve had the Kiko Matsuri in Gen Con, the L5Honored event in London, the Winter Court in Minnesota and of course, we’ve had the release of the game where I’ve selected a Clan…the Scorpion.
Details are out of the second dynasty pack in the Imperial cycle! This is the second pack in the 6 packs in 6 weeks release, so cards are coming to us fast. Let’s get stuck in and see what is has to offer each clan.
Starting on the 1st of November, a total of 317 Legend of the Five Rings players competed to see who would claim the title of Shogun for 2017. At the end of 4 fierce days of battle and intrigue, one player remained. Shogun Samuel Benies claimed that honor for the Lion clan defeating the Crane Hatamoto John Urbanek on the field of battle.
Today at Imperial Advisor we have a special treat, a card preview, and it’s a good one. Please give us your thoughts on the card in the comments section below.
A lot of information about the L5R LCG’s competitive scene emerged from the World Championships this past weekend in Minnesota. Among the most surprising revelations was the Crab Clan’s failure to perform at expected levels. Despite decent participation numbers, Crab struggled in the format, with only a single challenger limping to the final cut. Different reasons have been offered as to why Crab failed – from the trollish to the bewildered. After my own series of bruising defeats, I have been trying to analyze what went wrong, and why, and I have a few hypotheses.
Tears of Amaterasu, the first dynasty pack in the Imperial cycle, releases November 9th. Let’s have a look and see what it holds.
