Irish Kotei – Clan Win Rates

Irish Kotei – Clan Win Rates

The Irish Kotei gave us a unique opportunity to have an in-depth look at the Imperial Environment in action. After the event, we checked with the organizers and managed to get details of the pairings and winners. That let us work out some of the clan percentages to give an idea how the various clans are performing against each other. This included the main event, the proving grounds, and the final rounds on day 2 but not the skirmish events.

Meta Check – Irish Kotei

Meta Check – Irish Kotei

This weekend we have the Irish Kotei in Cork at Warpcon. This is the second Kotei with the full Imperial cycle and at around 200 people in attendance is the biggest yet, although the Paris Grand Kotei is sure to blow past that number. This is home turf for many of us on Imperial Advisor and we’re all going to be in attendance either playing or staffing. Updates will be added as the Kotei progresses.

Careful Consideration – Pax South

Careful Consideration – Pax South

Today we have a guest article by Alcibiates who took the time to go through the top decks from the PAX tournament to see if any insights could be found.

PAX South gives us the first look at Kotei results with the full imperial cycle. While the imminent Phoenix clan pack looks to shake things up, it is important we get a firm handle on the meta before Disciples of the Void so we can look for the missing pieces to solve the puzzle. We will not focus on how one particular clan solves the meta-puzzle, but instead look for confirmation of what the meta is. With limited information from clans other than Dragon & Scorpion, we will try to nail down those decks and consider the most common cards you should expect to see across all decks.

The Imperial Gauntlet — Decks to Test Against

Top players prepping for a tournament will put together a range of the decks they expect to face and play their chosen deck against this ‘gauntlet’. The first difficulty with this is picking out the right decks, hopefully, I’ve done a decent job below but any suggestions are welcome. Different environments have different playstyles and sometimes a deck that will do well in one area will underperform in another. At the most basic, does your environment typically bid high or low during the draw phase? Just that simple norm can shift which decks come out on top. This might mean you need to shift your playstyle to get the best out of each deck. The hard part then is getting the games in. Practice, practice, practice.
