…The first day of qualifiers
The Thursday before the ‘big’ event had a 96 player tournament with 5 rounds and the undefeated getting the Hatamoto title.
…This year’s Winter Court is this weekend starting on Friday the 2nd of November and culminating on Sunday the 4th with the finals. We’ll be updating the site with all the most up to date info we can find.
…With Winter Court upon us, we have the Scorpion Clan pack just in time to shake things up and give Worlds a brand new environment. Going into this, the Dragon Monk deck is commonly accepted as the strongest in the environment, but Scorpion still are a strong contender. The question then, is whether this influx of cards will give Scorpion the edge they need to come out ahead.
…This week we’re releasing some unofficial floor rules for L5R. Obviously, this isn’t an official FFG publication, but currently, the L5R judges do not have official floor rules and have the discretion to make rulings as they see fit. As such, a judge at an L5R event could choose to use these floor rules and it should make things easier for them if they do.

The elemental cycle has been a big one for the Dragon. The Monk theme is a core aspect of the Dragon Clan that many wanted to explore, but up until now, the deck hasn’t been viable. Additions like Togashi Mitsu, Hurricane Punch, and Void Fist have most certainly changed that. The Monk trait is now a key element in Dragon’s most competitive deck. Dragon players can now live the dream of Kung-Fu fighting their way through tournaments. But what is that deck going to look like? …
